InBody 520
Weight alone is not a clear indication of health and fitness because it does not distinguish how many pounds are fat and how many pounds are lean mass.
The ratio between muscle mass and body fat is more meaningful and important than body weight alone. Muscle is denser and weighs more than fat, so a lean, muscular person can weigh more than someone with a higher amount of body fat. Therefore, percent Body Fat, rather than weight, is a more accurate means of assessing degrees of obesity or degrees of fitness.
Another important value that the InBody 520 measure, is your water weight and its distribution between the intracellular and extracellular membranes. This can tell if you are adequately hydrated by looking at the water level in relation to your total body weight and whether you may have edema by looking at proportion of the body distribution.
This state of the art BIA (Bioelectrical Impendence Analysis) machine measures your Body Fat, Muscle Mass, Water Distribution and Segmental Muscular Development so you can better understand how your diet, exercise and lifestyle regimen are influencing your body composition.
How does the InBody work?
Direct Segmental Multi-frequency Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (DSM-BIA) separately measures the impedance of the trunk, arms, and legs of our body.
This separates the flows of currents and electric potential. This new measurement concept measures the resistance of the cross point of two flows and takes the resistance values of the arms, legs and the body trunk.
