Anatomy of Love

Created by an uber-talented card designer, this poster is more than a cute wall hanging.

The organs, glands and tissues are labeled with virtues: kindness, wisdom, joy, faith, honesty, long-suffering, righteousness, gentleness, truth, grace, respect, humility, commitment, patience, diligence, contentment, strength, self control, peace, goodness, compassion and love.

This poster reminds me of something I learned at a recent conference. It was amazing to see the correlation between emotions&thoughts and the actual chemical processes that occur in the body.  The speaker's presentation divided diseases and conditions into 2 basic categories, the first including inflammatory conditions like heart disease and arthritis and the second including irregular growth conditions like cancer.  The main personality trait of the first group tend to be fiery, expressing emotions easily and thus have conditions that "blows up" like strokes.  Those categorized in the second group tend to hold onto their emotions and thus "grow" their emotions into tumors, cysts, etc.

The most interesting thing about this is that what happens inside the cell tend to happen outside the cell. And in reverse, what happens outside can dictate what happens inside. So in essence, you can control what happens inside your cells by changing your attitude and thoughts. Of course the goal is to be in balance, to be able to release thoughts in a positive manner but also be able to hold your tongue and accept things that are not in your control with peace.

So for the new year, I challenge you to take control of your physical health by taking reign of your thoughts and the way you deal with your emotions!

Let us all strive to really hold these virtues as part of our natural anatomy!

  • Dosha is a Sanskrit word that translates as “mind-body constitution” or “mind-body personality.” According to ayurveda – the 5,000-year-old “science of life” – there are five master elements that make up everything within our bodies and everything outside of our bodies: space, air, fire, water, and earth. Space carries all the aspects of pure potentiality – infinite possibilities; air has the qualities of movement and change; fire is hot, direct, and transformational; water is cohesive and protective; and earth is solid, grounded, and stable.

Biological systems weave these elements into three primary patterns known as doshas. They are most easily thought of as mind-body principles that govern our style of thinking and behaving. The three doshas are Vata, Pitta and Kapha, and each is mainly a combination of two elements. Vata dosha, woven from space and air, regulates movement and change in our minds and bodies. Pitta dosha, comprised of fire and water, governs digestion and metabolism. Kapha dosha, made from earth and water, maintains and protects the integrity and structure of our mind and body.
  • EAR CANDLING is an ancient practice that has been around for thousands of years. The tapered end of a hollow candle is placed snugly into the ear and the other end is the lit. This lighting of the candle creates a gentle vacuum inside the hallow candle which extends into the inner ear.  The mild heat circulating inside the ear softens and dislodges wax and debris and pulls it out of the ear canal and into the ear candle. Difficulty hearing can be partly caused by congestion in the ear by debris and wax.

The suction of the candle also affects the ear drum, normalizing the pressure inside the ear, and sinuses. Therefore, clearing out excess ear wax and balancing the natural pressure in the ear can clear sinus congestion.
  • Did someone say Chocolate? AND tea?

Yes. Both. Together! It's like mocha but better.

I almost whizzed by Rob's Really Good at the Expo because the label? Not Really Good.

BUT I saw these 2 words and I had to stop and try. I'm not really sure what "Chocolate Flavor" is (I hope it is really chocolate and not some artificial junk) and I have not tested it yet but it's oh soooo tasty.

After sampling this flavor, all the others didn't not measure up!

AND see how cute this is on the back of the label :
