Slow Down!

Most of us have probably heard of mindful eating. But why is it so important to slow down and take our time with meals?

Drinking Water but Always Thirsty?

Many of my clients drink an adequate amount water but are always thirsty. BUT they are also constantly running to the bathroom! To many, this seems normal. Drink water = gotta pee. I used to drink at least 3 liters of water daily but was always needing to pee. I attributed it to drinking nearly a gallon of water daily but what I had not realized was that I wasn’t ABSORBING the water.

What good is it if you drink but you can’t get HYDRATIED (think moisture for skin and eye and lubricant for joints and ligaments) because you aren’t ABSORBING it. So, why isn’t the absorption taking place? There can be 2 main factors.

Say No to Frankenfish

Genetically Modified Organisms flood not only the aisles in the supermarkets but also the produce section. Many of our fruit, veggies, grains and beans are genetically modified to produce higher yield in the fields, for prettier colors and more uniform shape. But it doesn’t end there. Scientist are genetically engineering our FISH supply.

Jumpstart the New Year with a Cleanse or Detox Regime!

Happy New Year!

After indulging in the stuffing and pies, you should be hitting the treadmills and getting back into the groove of your regular eating habits. But most of us need a little jumpstart to shake off that sugar high and lose those 5 pounds that crept into your pants in the last month!

We recommended a bi-yearly detox to Spring Clean your body and Fall into Health! Having spoken to many people, we realized that most people use the terms “cleanse” and “detox” interchangeably. However, a cleanse and a detox are very different things.

A cleanse (ie, the Master Cleanse) or a fast (including juice fasts) gives the body a break from its regular duties – specifically the digestive processes of mastication, secreting gastric acid and enzymes and elimination.
